Every Day Makeup

Aloha my good friends.

I'm really starting to get into my youtube videos lately. 

I'm finding youtube to be an absolutely amazing way of learning new hairstyles, recipes, yoga poses, songs of guitar etc etc etc. 

The possibilities are endless.

I'm still a complete newbie with making videos but I gave my usual every day makeup look tutorial a bash. 

Here you can check out the products and brands I use, laugh at my clumsiness and occasional curse word and completely non-intentional Arab remark.

I'd love your thoughts.

Also, because I'm new at this - I'd really love your ideas of other videos I could do to entertain you guys further. It's something I really want to get into properly.

I have no hopes or dreams of becoming the next international youtube superstar (I think it's pretty obvious from my videos that aint gonna happen.....) but it's really fun and I enjoy it.

Plannning a Vlog In Between Getting Kicked in the Ass by Technology

Bah Bloody Humbug...... That is how I feel right now. Why??? Well.. because technology flipping HATES me. That's why.... and I hate IT! 

I can't even figure out how to use that silly new app called Bitstrip or something or another! My friend Shaheen posted this cartoon up because I just cannot figure it out. 

I have concluded that if the world was to be taken over by robots .. which in this day and age is a pretty plausible happening.... I would surely die within the first split second. 

Let me get to the point of this short post today... on Sunday I made a video.. a 'vlog' if you will... I wanted to publish my first ever vlog to you all as I thought it would make a nice little difference to rather hear me speak and communicate in other ways rather than always writing. So the video I made went well but turns out the format doesn't work for YouTube or for Blogging.... so after work today I have a meeting with a techie to teach me the ways of editing it to make it easy to publish you you all. SO... hopefully tomorrow or this evening I will be publishing my first VLOG!!! Which is pretty exciting.. if I get it right. 

I plan on Vlogging maybe twice a month... depending on how it goes. We shall see!

The Sock Bun - An Easy Tutorial

Yesterday on one of my regular hunts around the world of vlogging, I stumbled across a really fantastic tutorial on how to do a sock bun.

After watching the video a few times I gave it a try and this was my outcome:

For a first attempt I think I did a pretty OK job! 

Many of you are probably wondering what on earth a 'sock bun' actually is... a sock bun, is made by snipping the end off of one of your socks and rolling the sock into a doughnut ring.

Putting your hair into a pony-tail you then put your hair through the ring and pull it down to the very end where you tuck the tips of your hair around the doughnut.  

From there you start rolling the doughnut up the pony-tail and slowly pulling your curling hair around the sides of the doughnut so that the sock is no longer visible. 

Once completely rolled up, the bun stays there without needing any bobby pins but you can choose to secure it more by adding one or two. 

I absolutely love how BIG my bun looks now thanks to this sock bun tutorial. A normal bun just doesn't suffice anymore!

This is also a great way to make heat free curls! (I'm trying that right now actually, just stepped out the shower and shoved my hair into the bun and tomorrow I'll see how the curl theory fairs for me).
