Aesop Hand Cream | Product Review

I found this product in London, just before my backpacking and camping trip throughout Europe last year April. I haven't looked back or touched another hand-cream since.

Oh, I also apologize for these photographs. As you can see my tube of hand-cream has been well-used!!!

The mandarin ring, rosemary leaf, and cedarwood atlas combination makes this product smell divinely refreshing in a gorgeous herbal way as well as making this product suitable for both men and women. In fact, it was a man that actually introduced me to it! It doesn't have that feminine scent to it and also isn't masculine, it is just wonderfully neutral.

Pros:

  • Advertising - It lives true to its name and really does 'resurrect' your hands.
  • Fast Absorbing - I was surprised at how quickly my skin soaked this cream up!
  • Non Greasy - It leaves your skin feeling incredible after application and the best part is that even with all of the oils etc contained in the product, it doesn't leave your hands feeling greasy!
  • Intensive Moisture - I'll never be satisfied with another hand-cream. This one makes my hands feel completely amazing and shows fast results for dry skin. I had some weird dry patched on my fingers that were apparently 'eczema' although I've never suffered with eczema before. Either way, this product healed it in no time at all! My hands have never felt better.
  • Contains Essential Oils - (lavender and orange) for soothing and aroma-therapeutic effects.
  • Scent - Divine. Enough said.

Cons:

  • The Price - Yes, there is the quibble of price but to be honest, I'd pay it over and over again for this product. I am so impressed with it and couldn't imagine using anything else on my hands if I could help it anymore.
  • The Packaging - At first I loved that it came in a metal tube. It gave an old-school, medicinal feel to it which I couldn't help but adore; but I have had my hand-cream for just under a year now (still on the 75ml tube too which proves that it is long lasting!) and once you've carted it around for such a long time the metal does start to crack which I've been warned can cause leaking. For this reason I have decided to often decant the cream into smaller, plastic containers and carry that around in my handbag.

Overall this product is one I would buy again and again - and the cons are things that I for one am willing to overlook. Luxury isn't cheap - and as I said, the packaging does add that quirky old-school feel to the product!

Mane N Tail Detangler: The Tangles and Knots Solution | Product Review

Oh.
My.
Word.

I think I have died and gone to hair heaven.

My mornings after a shower are now absolute pure bliss.

Mane N Tail recently sent me this Detangler in the post after seeing my review on their shampoo and conditioner. I was so thrilled to receive it and very excited to try it out.

Firstly, let me tell you what an absolute nightmare my hair is in the mornings. Once I've washed it, no matter how much conditioner I use, I just cannot comb out the knots.
Half of my morning is spent wrestling with a hair brush!
But not anymore!!!

The Mane N Tail Detangler is an absolute lifesaver and I honestly could not believe the results. I must admit that I was a little skeptical when I first started spraying it onto my damp hair. I didn't understand how it would help me comb out the knots - I still don't actually! It is magic.

After I'd sprayed a good few spritz's of this stuff into my hair - I grabbed my nemesis... The Comb.

Brushing my hair has never been so easy!

You know that half of the reason I decided to chop off all of my hair into a pixie cut last year was because I just couldn't handle the knots anymore?
Had I known this product existed - had I done further research before making the drastic decision to hack off my long locks.... I wouldn't be so regretful right now.
Cutting off all of my hair and styling it into a pixie cut didn't banish the knots anyway - but Mane N Tail has.

I can never go back - likewise with the shampoo and conditioner.
I swear - once you have used these products you won't be able to use anything else!
I am so happy with Mane N Tail - and I have no doubt in my mind that you will all be too!

Mane 'n Tail Shampoo and Conditioner - Hair Product Review

In 2013, I made the decision to hack off all of my hair.

Lets face it, my hair has been through chemical and product HELL... and it is no body else's fault but my own. Either way - I am trying to make up for my abusive relationship with my hair now by sourcing the right products to get my hair back on track.

In December I ventured into Dis-Chem to do some last minute Christmas shopping and decided to ask one of the shop assistants to recommend me some good products to help my hair grow. I'm not blonde - well technically there are parts of my hair that are blonde - but with regards to the insulting idiom, I am not blonde. I do know that you cannot hold all hope in a product to miraculously give your hair a growth spurt... but right now I am so desperate that I would try just about anything.

The sales lady took me down the aisle and pointed directly at Mane 'n Tail. I'd obviously heard of 'horse shampoo' in the past and had even considered heading down to my friends stables to sneak some of her horse's hair products away for myself (insert sly yet depressingly desperate giggle here). Well.. lucky for me they have now made a human-friendly version after a few experimental horse lovers decided they were going to try using horse shampoo on themselves after seeing the amazing results on their horses! True story.

She told me that my best bet would be the Herbal-Gro set after I told her a bit of my tragic hair history. Unfortunately they only had the conditioner in stock so I settled for a different Mane 'n Tail shampoo (scandal!).

She recommended the Mane 'n Tail Deep Moisturizing Shampoo to accompany my conditioner.

The first thing that I do when choosing a new shampoo and conditioner is see how it smells. There is nothing better than having a wonderfully scented hair product. They both passed the test.

The Herbal Gro Olive Oil Complex Conditioner has a coconut / cocoa butter fragrance to it without it being over-bearing which could lead to headaches. It is a soft and gentle smell. It helps to strengthen the hair as well as nourish it and reduces breakage. It leaves your hair feeling silky smooth and tangle free.

The Deep Moisturizing Shampoo has a sweet, berry-like fragrance to its blue liquid. Personally I prefer the Herbal-Gro fragrance but both are divine either way. The shampoo is deeply hydrating as its name suggests. If you have dry or damaged hair then this is the one for you.

They hold qualities of locking in moisture and repairing the damaging effects of heat-styling, chemical-use and environmental factors have to your hair. They fortify hair with Vitamin E and Provitamin B5. They are honestly just excellent and I am so happy that I decided to go out on a whim and try it out. I don't think I can go back now!

Celebs such as Sarah Jessica Parker and Jennifer Anniston are big fans of this product and even go as far as to say that it is a beauty secret.

After a month of using this product I am beyond impressed. Not only does my hair feel light and silky soft after every wash - but it has also dramatically helped my hair grow. I know that is a matter of opinion and some people just won't believe that but trust me - after popping hair growth tablets for the last year with little to no results - then using this magical product for one month.. the results are phenomenal! It isn't unnoticed to friends and family either. I have been getting so many lovely compliments and questions as to how my hair is growing so fast and I am only but happy to share my new secret.

I'd recommend it to anyone and will definitely be buying new bottles when my first stash has been depleted.

Mane 'n Tail is now available in South Africa (thank you!) and you can buy it at your nearest Dis-Chem.

Price: R90.00 for a 335ml bottle
